Influence of Media 3



Good Evening Blog ,

In today’s post I will be discussing a third theory, the Agenda Setting Function Theory. In sum, this theory explains to us that the media can’t control the way we think, but on what exactly we think of. This theory stemmed from a study based on the 1968 Presidential Election in which a correlation found “between issues that voters believed were important and issues the media gave prominence to.“ 

I’d be able to apply this theory to my magazine by choosing which story to promote on the cover. Even though it may not be the most story throughout my entire magazine, it will APPEAR to be more important than the rest because it’s on the cover.
